I just logged on to Facebook after I returned form a very powerful experience with my family in New Mexico
and saw this written on a friends wall…

“RIP . I just passed away . • If you don’t care : stop readinq . • If you’d go to my funeral : Lms • If you would miss me : comment a ♥ . • If your not scared repost this to see who your real friends are”… 

My brother died three years ago this upcoming June. Do you have any idea how offensive this is to me as a human being? As a person. What has this come to? Using the sacred reality of death as a play thing? As a popularity contest? 
Insecurity at it’s finest.
Do you just blindly follow? 
Do you even know what death is?
Have experienced it?
Have you smelt it? 
No.
Because if you had, you wouldn’t be using it to find out who your “real friends are.”
To gain status? Reputation? Popularity?
And what is that worth?
Absolutely nothing. 

How has it come to this that we must argue upon who deserves to love one another,
who deserves to be happy just cause it makes a select few of us uncomfortable? 

My generation has been labeled “The most narcissistic generation of all time”

And why my dear friends do you think that is? 

because of bullshit like this.

I refuse to believe that we are the greatest narcissists of all time because day in and day out I see amazing people making remarkable changes in their lives and the lives of those around them. The majority people are between the ages of 12 and 19. 

My generation are going to be the ones to cure deadly deceases and conditions. AIDS, Cystic Fibrosis, Cancer.

My generation will be the ones to end war and hunger.

SO STOP SEARCHING FOR YOUR REAL FRIENDS ON A VIRTUAL WEBPAGE. 

Start searching for who YOU are and I promise and I promise your true friends will find their way into your life. 

Our generation will be the ones to save the world, so when you post a sick, sadistic, attention-seeking and offensive comment in order to gain popularity, I can promise you… You are not helping our cause. You are not helping anyone or anything. You are especially not helping yourself. 

So LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE If you agree…

OR HERE’S A BETTER IDEA-

GO out and live. That’s right, get off your ass. off of your twitter, tumblr, facebook, myspace, youtube, formspring and LIVE. I dare you to do it once. Be human. Help some one. And that doesn’t mean give money to an aid organization or a campaign like KONY 2012 in order to feel good about yourself. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and seeking attention. Go out out and ACTUALLY help another human being. Do it face to face. Look in their eyes and learn from it. I promise you, you will no longer have any sick hunger for attention.

Get off your ass and go do something. There’s nothing stopping you.
